  3. Hi, back, just talked to Bumblebee, she is fine and hopes to join us on the TDK meetup next weekend. Trying to get directions for Debsterwitz and her to come in. Map quest is an ok tool, but not a given. If need be, I will take one car and Lila and Kay another to pick our friends up, since I don't think the mapquest directions will make any sense. But a TDK meet up will happen, not to worry! Photo's and words will follow!

Deb, sounds like GA is the place to be next month! Wish we could be there, just not possible. Know that we will be with you and all of our friends in spirit.

Ok, off to bed. Everyone have a good night tonight and a good day tomorrow. Til I see you again, may the angels kiss you gently while you sleep.

    Love Mama Lynn

  5. Well, I'm off to iron my pants and get in bed. My cousin who lives in Athens tells me I'm in for it with the commute since there is a football game Saturday. It seems that Athens has a football team or something?

  7. Goodnight, Lynn. Thanks for helping BB and Debsterwitz get to the meetup. I like using googlemaps.com to get directions. I think it is better than Mapquest (IMHO). :)

  10. Well it feels like the Presidential election but it is student council election. I am one of the advisors. The head of Student Council is out for the week and I kinda took over. What started as occassionally working concession stand has turned into me running concession stand and now counting ballots for the election. Tis fun she said--Twill be easy she said--Shant take much time she said....

I have to go shopping this weekend and after 2 volleyball games I am having to count ballots--not like I have a stack of paper to grade or anything!!

  17. You are right Bobbi I do love my job. Get frustrated as all get out, but that normally occurs with the parents not the kids. I have issues when kids start swearing at me--I call parent--then come unhinged when they swear at their parents! That kills me! How can a parent think that is okay?? I have heard from parents "what am I suppose to do?" I don't know, how about giving them a consequence that they do not enjoy. I have found a few as a parent and a teacher.

  18. Thank you Lynn--still have icky snot so will go wash my hands! I had a student blow his nose and ask to go to the restroom to wash his hands!! I did a happy dance--students think I am nuts! Strep is running rampant and I have a hand washer! I will encourage that. If they'd stop sniffing it, I'd bring back my Germex!

  19. I absolutely refuse to let the 18 yr old swear at me. When I threw him out of the house last week, he cussed at me, and I let him have it verbally. Later he texted me and apologized, even though he was staying with a friend.
Yes, he's back, and we had words just this afternoon. But I don't allow disrespect.

  20. I hear ya, SM, and am sorry this is happening so quickly in the beginning of the school year. Are you teaching children, or raising parents?? Seems a bit off kelter here for me. I wish you the best of luck and look forward to the stories you will tell. Some of them, would be hard to believe as is your first post. I wish you strength and patience and know that I, for one, thank you for the job you do, I hope my grandchild has someone looking out for her like you do. Blessings and patience from my heart to yours.

  21. Well, I really am off for a bit.
Everyone have fun, and if I don't get back before you get ready to leave KW,
give me a call. I'll answer this time.
LOL (The phone was in the other room.)

  22. Disrepect has no place in society, let alone your home, Bobbi. You did the right thing. Do not allow that to happen again. Children of all ages need bounderies and you have set yours. I pray they will respect them. Love Lynn

Posted 3 years ago by Lynn from PA 6/8 #

  23. Sox's Mom that is really yucky! Please stay well and get a flu shot. And at this point, don't touch any kids you don't have to!

Posted 3 years ago by Lynn from PA 6/8 #

  24. Sorry. Long-winded talker on the phone!

Posted 3 years ago by Kitten Whisperer #

  25. See yo later Bobbi--by the way they like it when they are reminded to respect people. Your 18 year old will end up remembering lessons learned and will teach them in return. It is a great cycle to teach respect.

I think kids look for boundries. I know when I call a kid on a disrespect issue, tell them what I expect, accept nothing less, and consistantly follow consequences problems disappear. I wish it was that easy with my own.

  26. Goodnight, Bobbi, hope to see you again soon. I have to go now too. I have already sent the angels out for tonights sleeping time, so will just say, sleep well. See you soon. Stay safe, the end of the week looks to be terrible at best. We are looking at about 3-6 inches of rain here in Pa from Gustav. Hannah will hit the shores of south or north Carolina. Not expected to be too bad. And then Ike, who is a very angry young man in the Atlantic hitting possibly our friends in FL. Say a prayer for all in any path of these next storms and we will track their progress though this website. Prayers to all over the next week.

    Love, Mama Lynn
