I got a phone call from my mother last night. She is VERY distraught. First, the kitten we rescued (who is now 2) got out of the house. She is very skiddish and does not have any adult teeth. Bean has been missing for 6 days now, and my mother, who lives with my 17yo brother, is very lonely anyway, so this is just devastating to her. This cat was very special to her..
Then last weekend, she de-wormed 2 horses, one the mother of a 4 month old foal. She did not realize how bad they were infested, and they both died. When the blood sucking worms died, it left internal lesions, and they bled to death internally. She has the baby (winnie) at the house in a small pen, to try to take care of her. She was beating herself up, crying last night, and I live 14 hours away and cannot do anything to help.

Oh MerD we can hope Bean will return after her run of freedom. As for the horses I am sorry and sometimes fate can be cruel. She lost two but now she has the foal to mother and care for. Which is what she needs after Bean's disappearance right? I can not say this is fair but unfortunately sometimes we have no control. I am learning that with my Max!

MerD - sending all the white light I can muster up for your mom and you as well. Being a horse owner myself, I know your mom has a difficult job trying to raise a 4-month old foal,and losing two horses would be unbearable. I hope little Bean comes back home and helps raise the foal.
