  6. Morning everyone who just came in! CM, me too, even after 38 yrs of having them, its tiring more and more these days. JCAT, yes I have and still am doing acupuncture (both Chinese & Japanese forms) and it works to lessen them for a bit then its back on full-force again. Only 3 more hours to work, can't go fast enough, sigh.

  7. Bye, MCW, don't work too hard... lol

  8. Bye MCW, see you tomorrow.

  9. I'm glad the acupuncture helps a bit, Deb, but sounds like something else that kept the seizures away would be a godsend. Like I said, I'm in awe you can function at all!

Posted 3 years ago by jcat #

  10. MCW, hope that the afternoon treats you well.

jcat, guess I have had them so long it doesn't even faze me most days but lately they have been really bad.

Have been watching a bit of the news on the shooting in Finland, sad for those who have lost their lives.

  11. bye Renee and MCW!
I just heard about the shooting Deb, how awful.
Maddie's 2 year molars are coming in so she is not eating..so dinner last night was a banana instead of her steak..so this morning she is sooo whiny, so now she eating some oatmeal and toast..very hungry little girl.

  12. We heard there had been a shooting in Finland at a school on the news but there were no details. It's so awful when these things happen, and so pointless. What fuse blows in the human mind that this can seem like a possible thing to do?

  13. They just arrested 2 15 year olds at a catholic private school last week for planning a shooting. They are claiming it was a "joke". They were expelled to say the least and now are awaiting some legal action

  14. CM, when my two were teething I used to very sparingly butter some bread and spread it with Vegemite and cut each piece of bread into 3 and dry them out in a very low heat in the oven. The girls loved chewing on these to ease the teething pain. Now I know you can't get Vegemite easily in the US except at International store, but it could be worth a try. Warning, spread it very thinly as it is strong. It contains all sorts of good vitamins and minerals and trace elements a growing child needs. Kids in NZ and Australia grow up on this or a rival product called Marmite.

I have already had to send Airy and Jim-man a supply of Vegemite, I'm not sure if a Kiwi can function without their Vegemite or Marmite. I wonder if KM still likes them.

  15. It's so scary. Sending kids to school has become a leap of trust...

  16. Here is one of the links for the shooting:

  17. Thanks Deb. MS, I love marmite and lettuce sammies but it's my firm belief that you have to start eating it when you're a wee one because no one would ever be able to force it down your throat once you were really able to struggle... Talk about acquired taste...!

Posted 3 years ago by jcat #

  18. I should look for that MS...I am sure one of the stores here carries it somewhere.

  19. Nine dead in Finland, that's terrible. I didn't realise it was their second school shooting there -- how awful. You would think a quiet place like Finland would be spared such lunacy but I guess nowhere is safe.

Posted 3 years ago by jcat #

  20. I know jcat, you think you are safe or somewhere is safe then some lunatic does this. It's a scary world out there.
I am going to make me some breakfast then I must organize miss madeline's toys..she brought ALL her toys from her room to the living room so I must sort them and make some sort of order.
jcat and MS, i am sure you will be in bed soon. So I bid you good night and a pleasant tomorrow!
Deb, get better and get home. Hope your shift is over soon :)

  21. ROTFLMAO Jcat, that's a pretty good assessment, and not because it's nasty, it's just different. I adore vegemite and lettuce sammies too, but the one that we were brought up with was vegemite and walnut. Oh I'm drooling now at the thought. When eldest daughter was studying in Delaware she took a large jar of vegemite with her and some of the young adults there tried it,but they spread it on thick like peanut butter. you can picture their faces can't you. One girl did like it but she had studied at Waikato Uni for a year and grew to love it in that time. she was actually missing it.

  22. Goodnight CM, I will be heading off to bed very soon, hope Maddie has a good day with her teeth.

    Posted 3 years ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

  23. Good on her, she must have had an adventurous palate... Plus, it looks like tar. But I know what you mean about missing it, there are times when just NOTHING else but marmite (or vegemite) on toast will do, CM if Maddie does like it, it's soooooo good for her, all those B-group vitamins...

I'll be heading off soon too, have a lovely day with Miss Munchkin, CM

Posted 3 years ago by jcat #

  24. Actually they may sell either the vegemite or the marmite @ Trader Joe's.

  25. G'night my friends from the land of Kiwi's :) Sleep well and wake up rested for tomorrow's adventures.

Posted 3 years ago by AZDEBRA 5/27 & crew #

  26. Good night, Deb and MS. Take care, both of you but Deb, you take special care with those headaches!

Posted 3 years ago by jcat #

  27. I'll tell Airy to keep her eyes open for that Deb. I had to post over their favourite stuffed toys and some Kiwi sweets. Airy said they arrived the same day as the furniture from CBM and that evening they snuggled up on the sofa and ate sweets from home and didn't feel so far away.

  28. Goodnight Jcat, watch out for those gales tomorrow. Deb,hope the rest of your shift goes _________, you know the word we don't use. All other TDKers, have a great Tuesday.

    Posted 3 years ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

  29. Lol, thanks for not using that dreaded word! It's good to snuggle up to things from home when so far away.

Thanks jcat I will take care with them.
