Joseph Petcka goes free

Well, at least his SHYSTER got it bass-akwards. It was a lone hold-out against CONVICTION.
I doubt that the prosecution will retry the case but we can always hope.
Now where did I put those post it notes? I need to add him to the list to watch for in the cast lists so I can change the channel.

Yesterday I sent a message to the New York ASPCA urging them to do whatever they can to convince the court to retry Petcka if this happened.
I feel sick to my stomach. One more reason that washing down my meds with a bottle of wine looks good right now. The Bridge is better than this world.

((Leeny)) You are loved-please don't let that feeling fester inside you. This world is ugly and messed up, but there's good stuff too. Sometimes you just have to look a little harder to find it.

This is not justice.

Criminal court in USA must be a unanimous verdict "beyond a reasonable doubt".
Civil Court is a preponderance of the evidence and majority vote.
Unfortunately, Norman did not have a contract to play the next Morris in a cat-food commercial, so she cannot sue him for the loss of income due to the wrongful death of her pet. That would have at least extracted a wereguild from the creep.

I hope you're right Instinct. I hope they re-file and that the jerk winds up in jail with, as Emma says, hardened criminals that use him as a dress up doll.
But then again, he probably has so many people that know who he is and hate his guts for what he did, that he might wind up finding out how that poor cat felt.
