  3. What happens when this creep gets jealous of some girlfriend's child?

I personally would like to turn him over to hardened criminals to use as a dress-up doll.

  4. considering it was a hung jury the prosecution can refile and go after him again.

Considering it was a one person holdout, and the public opinion on the case, I would be surprised if they don't refile the case

  5. Lol Emma, I second that! I hope someone gives him an 'ol school, take him out back kind of lesson. Unbelievable! One stupid juror...

  6. Well, at least his SHYSTER got it bass-akwards. It was a lone hold-out against CONVICTION.

I doubt that the prosecution will retry the case but we can always hope.

Now where did I put those post it notes? I need to add him to the list to watch for in the cast lists so I can change the channel.

  7. Yesterday I sent a message to the New York ASPCA urging them to do whatever they can to convince the court to retry Petcka if this happened.

I feel sick to my stomach. One more reason that washing down my meds with a bottle of wine looks good right now. The Bridge is better than this world.

  8. ((Leeny)) You are loved-please don't let that feeling fester inside you. This world is ugly and messed up, but there's good stuff too. Sometimes you just have to look a little harder to find it.

  9. It's an awful outcome...the one good thing to take away from all of this is that people really did speak out against this abuse; and that's encouraging. Try not to be upset Leeny...(hug)

  10. Jeffrey Dahmer started out with killing pets. This creep is someone to watch. Very carefully. Something will happen again.

  11. My fear is that somehow he gets offered a job, or a book deal, or something else ridiculous..that whole "there's no such thing as bad publicity" thing...THAT would just drive me insane.

  12. One lousy juror caused this? Whatever happened to majority verdict???

    This is not justice.

  13. "Bein' born an' raised in New York,
there ain't nothin' you won't see
'cause the streets are filled with bad goings-on
an' you know that's no place to be....

Wasn't that strange, wasn't that strange, indeed?"

  14. Criminal court in USA must be a unanimous verdict "beyond a reasonable doubt".

Civil Court is a preponderance of the evidence and majority vote.

Unfortunately, Norman did not have a contract to play the next Morris in a cat-food commercial, so she cannot sue him for the loss of income due to the wrongful death of her pet. That would have at least extracted a wereguild from the creep.

  15. I hope you're right Instinct. I hope they re-file and that the jerk winds up in jail with, as Emma says, hardened criminals that use him as a dress up doll.

But then again, he probably has so many people that know who he is and hate his guts for what he did, that he might wind up finding out how that poor cat felt.
