I need a good laugh, so I figured I’d start a thread asking what kind of funny things your cats do that make you laugh.

Taco chases his tail like a dog all the time. Sometimes he catches it and bites it so hard that it makes him cry and chase it even harder, like the tail is an enemy that caused him the pain.

Our washing machine (shiny and white) is right next to our litter box. Feeny sees the reflection of the litter in the washing machine every time he goes to the bathroom. He always paws at the washing machine over and over and over again at the litter in the reflection, trying to cover his mess up that way. He doesn’t realize that there isn’t litter over there and it’s just a reflection over there. He sometimes does it for a good 3 minutes straight before he notices that the litter is below him at his feet and not in front of him in the machine reflection.

Feeny eats from the windowsill (his bowl is up there so Taco doesn’t get into his food and get sick). Whenever Feeny eats, Taco sits at the bottom of the windowsill (he can’t reach it yet) meowing over and over again. Feeny will put his paw into his food and paw it out onto the ground so Taco can have a few kibbles! Now I can never leave extra Feeny food out!

What funny stories do you all have about your furkids?

Wolfie carries the jingle ball in his mouth and brings it into the bathtub, where he proceeds to play hockey. He seems to enjoy this game the most at 3 am. He uses the big garden tub in the master bath, which is a few feet from my bed.

I should also mention that Wolfie is amazed when I fill the tub with water and soak in the bath. He sits on the side of the tub gazing at the water, reaching out a paw gingerly to touch, then shaking it with a look of disbelief on his face.

Well with 3 kits where do I start??? I guess with Chucky who loves to chase and bite my daughter! I hear the screams and have to rescue her from him(When no ones home she will run into a room and close him in there) It’s very funny because she’s the only one he’ll do this to! Then there’s Tonka who’s favorite game is to take a plastic spring up the stairs and bounces it through the banister at me while i’m on the computer, I pick it up and throw it down the hall, she chases it and runs back upstairs and does it over again! She usually does this as I am doing worksheets for the kids at school!

Then there’s Tess aka BG(Bathroom Gargoyle) She spends most of her time sleeping on the back of the bathroom sink, when someone goes in she cuddles with the cold water faucet so you turn it on. she is a water freak! also she is the cat that will join you in the shower, the only problem is once she’s wet she cannot get out of the tub so after you shower you have to remove a drowned cat, who doesn’t like to be picked up???

OK I also have to let you know about Lady Dog(She felt left out) She howls everytime an ambulance, police car or fire truck with the sirens going down the road, Now we live on a very busy road in between 3 hospitals so they go through every 2 to 3 hours. so she sits and howls a lot, It is very funny to watch. also she hates the garbage men she thinks there stealing our garbage!!

There are too many ways my cats amuse me! So I’ll just mention that Sweet Pea’s latest antic, as the only tortie in the house, is to flop for attention. But it’s not just any flop; they’re starting to turn into somersaults! What a silly, sweet little kitty she’s turning out to be. She also has a water fascination, specifically, she loves to watch the toilet flush. She must be terribly bored, poor thing!

Well I’ve only had Salem for about a week now, and I think the funniest thing he does is we have a very big full size mirror on our wall in our bedroom, and he looks in it sees his reflection, looks confused put’s his paw to it, and when he touches it he FREAKS OUT and jumps back and hides under out bed, but in seconds he’s back out doing the EXACT SAME THING.. I’m telling you I can watch that all day!!!

I can sum up silliness in cats with two words: “laser pointer.”

Henry does some of that stuff too!

He loves to chase his tail. I’ve never before had a cat who loved to do this so much. If he sees it, he will chase it for HOURS. If he ever gets on our nerves we just pick him up and put him into a little ball shape so that he has easy access to his tail and he’s happy.

He also likes to sit on the tank of the toilet while I’m in the shower, and howl and howl until we open the curtain so he can see where we are. Slowly he’s getting closer and closer to the water! Now he even jumps into the bathtub, but he doesn’t go under the water yet.

One of the best things is his hatred of the kitchen counter: it’s too high for him to jump up there yet, and so when we do dishes or cook dinner he’s very upset because he can’t see what’s going on. He sits there and howls until he finally climbs up my boyfriends leg to sit on his shoulder, (because he wears pants and Henry knows that his claws won’t hurt him) or if I’m cooking dinner he waits for me to pick him up and put him on my shoulder. (I usually wear skirts and he knows that if my legs are bare his claws will hurt!)

Also when you get mad at him and pick him up and look at him in the face, he just puts his paws out as far as he can reach and tries to gently paw at your face. He knows we think this is adorable and as a result he gets away with EVERYTHING.

Sorry. I could go on forever.

    I’m so done now.

OMG skirty how adorable!! I had a cat growing up and he was exactly the same way… Anytime I was in the kitchen doing whatever and he couldn’t see he would cry and cry until I picked him up to see what I was doing!!

I love hearing all of these stories… To cute!

When Huddy was a little kitty (before I got him) he and his brother Gizzy got into the pantry and dragged a loaf of bread around the house. My niece was laughing so hard she didn’t even care that they’d ruined an entire loaf of bread.

Maverick jumps up and down like a Jack Russell terrier if he sees ANYTHING moving on the patio.

Aggie gives “Eskimo kisses” (not PC, I know) She rubs her little

nose up and down on yours. I can always tell that is what she

wants by the way she holds her head up.

She also likes to sleep perched on my hip/thigh area. I’m a side

sleeper and I have to switch sides every so often, when I toss

her off to change sides she starts trying to climb back on before

    I can get settled.

All three of my cats, but particularly Snake, are enamored with these toy mousies-on-a-string my dad gets from a pet pharmacy and gives to me. I got two more for them over the weekend, and had them stashed away for when the other three mousies were beyond repairing. Well, Snake found them in the plastic bag they were stashed in, and proceeded to get them out of their wrapping. So they have five mousies to play with.

Just today Bobbi Sue saw that my Mom was angling the vacuum toward her favorite toy mousie and she ran lickity split over in front of the vicious monster vaccum to SAVE it and ran upstairs with it. My kirries always keep me laughing.

My little macey LOVES to dig, so when ever she goes to the bathroom Macey makes sure she covers it! She starts out as pawing a little litter on it at a time then as she moves to the next step she starts to dig franticly and when she gets to the bottom of the litter box were the trashbag is Macey claws a hole in it, thinking that the litter will go on forever, I have to carry her out of the litterbox to make her stop! XD

Rocky loves to drink out of the fish bowl!!!!! He will get on his hind legs and put half of his boddy in the tank and when Little Rocky gets his drink he is already soaked to the bone! One time after I came home from a trip one of my fishes was gone! and another had half of his tail bitten off. I wonder who did THAT! *glares at the fuzzy gray and white furball sitting next to me*

Cheetah Boy plays fetch with the little rings from the tops of milk bottles. He’ll bring that thing back to you a hundred times as long as you keep throwing it for him. Sometimes when we leave the level we’re on and go upstairs, he stays below. Then he realizes he’s all alone and starts crying. We have to go to the top of the stairs and yell down “We’re up here”. Then he comes running up like he’s been lost for hours. He just never learns that if he can hear noise upstairs, there’s probably people up there. You have to yell for him.

Squeaky Shoes isn’t much of a mover; she’s a little lump most of the time. But when she needs a catnip fix, she rolls over on her back and holds the catnip mouse in her paws. Then she rolls from side to side, holding the catnip up to her face. Because she is a chunky girl with lots of extra belly fur, her whole tummy flops over to the side each time she rolls. She’ll do it for 5 minutes or more.

Oscar has made me laugh so many times, I don’t know where to start!

The way he talks is hilarious – he has a different tone of voice for when he’s hungry, cranky or just chatty, and sometimes he sounds an awful lot like a dinosaur, rather than a kitten!!

When he pounces on things, he doesn’t just get low and attack – he always goes UP in the air first in this perfect leap, and THEN pounces. He’s also a huge somersaulter, head over heels for anything that moves in front of him.

Did I mention he snores? haha. Love those kitties!

My Squint always welcomes me home from work. As I walk across the grass telling him what a sweet boy he is, he flops over on his back (all 17 pounds of him!) for a belly rub. It is just precious, I tell ya!

Mili and her Cat Dancer are inseperable! (She has now completely destroyed the one I gave her a week ago.) She’ll hold one end in her mouth, spot the other end and chase it. Does she drop the first end??? Oh no… she spins circles. ‘Round and ’round and ’round…. then the other direction. And so fast! I get dizzy just watching.

Oh… Chloe lays on the back of the couch and just watches the silly kitty spin.

My cat always has to come and rub his body and tail against my leg when I’m sitting on the toilet. What does this mean?
