POUNCE! What a cutie!
POUNCE!
I spy the other kitty on the chair! Beautiful Mittens. I hope both kitties are getting on.
Mittens is not longhaired, not shorthaired, not a tortie, not a tabby, not a tuxie but seems just perfect.
Polydactyl floffy Mittens! She is front and center in the shot. I see her sister (name?) is laid back in the chair. I hope they’re getting along. Thanks for adopting Miss Mittens and may you have many loving years together.
A bit of history – Polydactyls have been popular as ship’s cats.
Nobel Prize–winning author Ernest Hemingway was one of the more famous lovers of polydactyl cats, after being first given a six-toed cat by a ship’s captain. Upon Hemingway’s death in 1961, his former home in Key West, Florida, became a museum and a home for his cats, and it currently houses approximately fifty descendants of his cats (about half of which are polydactyl). Because of his love for these animals, “Hemingway Kitty Cat”, or simply “Hemingway Cat”, is a term which has come to describe polydactyls.
Mittens is a sweet little cat.. I want to give her a cuddle…
🙂
FUZZ found her mittens!
FUZZ tells Kittenmaster that Ottawa is in Canada, not the US 😛
Bright, sweet Mittens! What a lovely tabby girl, and a poly to boot, I’ll bet she’ll figure out how to turn latches in no time. Kudos to your for homing two rescue kittens, may you have many happy, purry years with both 🙂
Thank you for that bit of history! Not only was it educational but entertaining as well! 🙂
I love the expression on Mitten’s face! It’s as if to say, “Do I look okay for this shot?” 🙂
Mittens is a beautiful, intelligent looking kitty. She looks like she is posing for the picture. ^ ^
Just look at that face! KERPLOOF!
I do see that she was sitting on a counter which made her closer to the camera, but the angle almost makes her look as if she is in a dollhouse (kittenhouse?) with furniture proportioned to her adorable dimensions. Priceless.
She looks PURRfect for the job of companion kitty!
she has such a sweet inquisitive face, i see why you chose her
Aww Mittens is the best. Love the expression on her face. I’m glad she has a big sister to look out for her. All the best to both of them for long, fun, & healthy lives.
My furkids & I wish you & your furkids many happy, healthy years! And, thank you soooo much for adopting!
What an incredibly lovable little CANADIAN girl!
Adorable!!! Mittens is absolutely adorable. Looks like you cut her out and pasted her on that table. Love the look on her face and her colors with the reddish gold on her forehead and her little white chest and her shortish/longish fur. Bet she ends up with long hair based on that floof coming out of her ears. She is a real cutie! Hugs and kisses to Mittens. Kiss her toes for me.
Ha! Yes, we are waiting for the next pussycat from Washington, DC, Canada…
Actually, there are some much smaller towns named Ottawa in the US, as members of the Odawa or Ottawa (First Nations/Native American) people migrated there.
Mittens is a lovely kitten. Hope she and her slightly-older sister get on…
Mittens the polydactyl kitty looks quite attentive in this photo! Regal too, and rightly so; she is beautiful!
Mittens is an excellent poser for the camera. She is lovely!
Kittenmaster: Thank you for all your work.
The capital of Canada is not in the US :~)
OH MY Mittens is soooooooo cute, really adorable.
Keeping your mits on Mittens will be easy for he is certainly a cutie patootie & our stripey Star-kit today at TDK!
Double the pleasure!!

Thanks from Barb one of the adopted parents…..
